Cesky Krumlov |
In the loops of the Vltava river, on the southern edge of the Blansky forest, near Sumava. The word Krumlov originated from the German Krumme Aue, a crooked alluvial plain. From the ancient past, the representative seat of many aristocratic families, the Lords of Krumlov, Vitkovec, Rozmberk, Eggenberg and Schwarzenberg. Now one of the most tourist visited cities in the Czech Republic with the fascinating castle on the high promontory above the Vltava meanders. The castle and the town have been inscribed on the UNESCO World heritage list since 1992.
