In the southern part of the Dolnooharska table, on Cerveny creek, below Slanska mountain. The first settlement in the Early Stone Age, founded perhaps as early as 750, but rather 1262. A royal town with extensive vineyards, at the beginning of the 20th century a major factory producing steam locomotives was established here. Bateria Slany is one of those Czechoslovak companies, whose products were in every household practically. The name of the town is derived from the salt (slany in Czech) spring already known in the Middle Ages, which still springs here in Nezamyslova street.
